BONEFISH FLIES
There are hundreds of different bonefish patterns, most of which catch fish in specific places or certain conditions if used properly. However, it's not practical to carry them all with you so we suggest a small range of imitative patterns (if you know what prey you are attempting to imitate) plus a good selection of non-imitative patterns such as Crazy Charlies in different colours and sizes which, if fished correctly, will catch fish most of the time by loosely representing
the various shrimpy, crabby, wormy, fishy things that bonefish eat.

ABACO SHRIMP
Heavily weighted with gold dumbell eyes, suggestive of several
shrimp and small crab species. Fast sinking, size 4 or 6
ABSOLUTE FLEA
Lightly weighted with red dumbell eyes, suggestive of grass shrimps and small crabs, particularly effective for tailing fish on grass flats, also effective on sand, fitted

CRAZY CHARLIES, MEDIUM WEIGHT
Evolved from the "Nasty Charlie" - the first ever reversed dressed
bonefish fly. The best known of all bonefish flies and still one of the best.

A heavily weighted Yarn Crab with rubber legs and
nylon weed-guard, suitable for permit and big bones in deep water.
Hook size 4. You need at least a #9 outfit to cast this baby!
FLEXO CRAB
A realistic imitation with mesh body and flexible legs
suitable for permit and big bones. Weighted, but not as heavy as Del's Merkin. Would probably disintegrate if a permit picked it up but
wouldn't it be worth it? Olive or sand colour. Not suitable for long distance casting.

EPOXY RAG HEAD CRAB
Weighted with medium black dumbell eyes these attractive crab
imitations have a hard epoxy "shell", are less splashy and easier to deliver than many other crab patterns, and have a neat nylon loop weedguard.
WOOL CRAB (aka Velcro Crab)
A Pacific Fly pattern similar to above but with silver dumbell eyes, soft body, longer legs and no weedguard. Olive or tan, each in size size 4 with medium eyes, or size 6 with small eyes. Excellent quality...
