BfG & Anne (BoneFriday) were accompanied by Chris & Lee (BoneBoy & BoneGirl) for the first week...

Saturday:
Saturday 8.00am: BfG, Bone Friday, Bone-Boy & Bone-Girl arrive at Governor's Harbour Airport, where their favourite Bonemobile awaits them. 8.30am: check in at Rainbow Inn, then a quick trip to the grocery & liquor stores for essentials, then the boys head out for the flats. Bone-Boy soon hooks a fish in a favorite bay... ...a nice fish of about 3lb. They land 3 more before midday then drive up north to a favourite wilderness flat... ...another 3 good size bones and this accidental boxfish. A total of 7 bonefish on their first day - not a bad start!

Sunday:
Sunday: Back up north... BfG admires these huge starfish then sees a small school of good size bones... ...and gets one - an energetic 4 pounder. The boys catch 2 more then meet the ladies for drinks & dinner.

Monday:
They investigated several local flats, BoneBoy caught 3 medium size bones and BfG one.

Tuesday:
Spring tides brought a big school of fish onto a nearby sandy flat where they caught 15 bones to 3lb in the morning, plus another 2 from the harbour on the ebb tide in the afternoon. A 17-fish day!

Wednesday:
Wednesday: Strong SE wind reduced their options so they explore some remote flats down south - the only other fisherman they see are an egret... ...and several of these experienced bonefishers! The boys fished separately so didn't take any photos of the 7 bones they caught that day.

Thursday:
BfG & BoneBoy took their ladies out for the day but forgot to leave their rods behind! The strong wind had suddenly veered 180° to the NW making the fish scarce on the flats.
BfG saw a few big bones but caught none. BoneBoy & BoneGirl went North and found a few more bones, catching a nice one of 3½lb (skillful joint effort!) from a sheltered bay.

Friday:
Friday 8.00am: their old friend Bonefish Bob arrives in 'Big Yella' with 'Rubber Duckie' on top to take the boys on an 'Extreme Adventure'... ...after a bumpy ride by land and sea they reach their destination just as the tide starts to flood... ...Bone-Boy locates a big school of fish and Bob soon puts a bend in his rod... ...a good start to the day. They catch several more but the tide rises so they climb back into Rubber Duckie and locate some fish mudding in deep water... ...Bob catches the best fish of the day and loses a much heavier one, finishing with a total of 8. BfG: 5 and Bone-Boy: 6.

BfG & BoneBoy did quite a lot of "research & development" during that first week but still managed to catch 50 bonefish, 58 when you include their friend Bob's catch on Friday.

On Saturday they were joined by virgin fly-fisher Ian "BoneAlone" Rouault together with old friends Barry Abbott & Barry Read (aka BoneIdle & BoneLately). Here are a few memories of that remarkable week...

Saturday:
Saturday: Our trusty Bone Boy take Both Barry's to a hotspot - Bone-Lately failed to live up to his name... ...instant success... the Barrys caught 7 bones each under the guidance of Bone-Boy who caught 4, a great way to start the week.

Sunday:
Sunday: same place but the fish are really nervous - 'Bone-Alone' Ian has to wade into deep water to get his fly to the fish... ...just a small one but who's complaining? ...no longer a bone-virgin, he soon catches another 2 just to prove it wasn't just a fluke! Meanwhile, Bone-Lately fished a difficult flat on the Ocean Side and caught this 4lb+ beauty - a personal best... ...further south, Bone-Boy found this big single feeding over coral within inches of the shore... at 6½lb the heaviest fish of the trip... ...then a move further north and Bone-Girl caught her first of the week. Rainbow Inn's killer guard cats 'Dum' & 'Dummer' sitting on Bonemobile #2 thinking '...so where's all the fish they caught?' Celebrating in Tippy's Restaurant: Bone-Idle, Bone-Lately, Bone-Friday, BfG, Bone-Boy, Bone-Girl & Bone-Alone.

Monday:
Monday: rare shot of Rainbow Inn proprietor Krabby Ken smiling (or is it gas?) and delivering Bone-Idle's mail! BfG and the Barrys head south. BfG gets a nice 3¾lb bone and Bone-Lately lands this 5lb+ specimen - his new personal best!... ...meanwhile up north Bone-Boy got one of 3½lb and LDR'd a much bigger one. Bone-Alone hooks into a big fish... ...success! a superb 6lb bone from the heavily fished Girls Bank - a fantastic achievement... ...and another excuse to celebrate!

Tuesday:
Tuesday: BfG takes Bone-Alone to a different flat up north. In spite of difficult conditions Bone-Alone caught his 5th fish of the week... ...and BfG had better luck with 6 bones, mostly good size like this one.

Wednesday:
Wednesday: BoneAlone & the Barrys get stuck into a shed load of fish not far from Rainbow Inn and have several double-hook-ups... ...Bone-Alone caught 5, Bone-Idle 12 and Bone-Lately 11 including this one. ...having just caught 28 bones they move further south. Bone-Lately soon hooks one... ...then Bone-Alone hooks a heavier one... ...about 3½lb. Meanwhile up north BfG & Bone-Boy find some fresh bone-holes indicating recent feeding activity... ...and soon locate the fish... ...BfG got this one of 5¾lb which looked like the smallest in a school of 12 fish!... ...and Bone-Boy caught 3 bones all over 3½lb. Just one more cast, then back to the villa... ...where Bone Boy is duty flambé chef... ...another celebration: Bone-Idle, Bone-Lately, Bone-Boy, Bone-Friday, Bone-Alone & Bone-Girl

Thursday:
They split into 3 teams... BfG (chaperoned by BoneFriday) went South with BoneGirl, BoneIdle & BoneAlone went further South and caught 4 bones each, and BoneLately fished up North in difficult conditions with Bone-Boy who caught 2 nice bones.

Bone-Girl hooks a nice fish and plays it expertly... ...unfortunately the camera-man is crap (good job he can find bonefish!) Just to prove it wasn't a fluke, she hooks and lands 2 more... ...time for well earned beer and a picnic lunch.

Friday:
The girls chilled out while all the boys went North. and caught a total of 32 bones to 3½lb.
The girls chilled out while the boys went North... BfG & Bone-Boy hired a Boston Whaler... ...and explored the harbour... ...stopping off at likely spots... ...they saw a wide variety off different flats... ...and caught a total of 32 bonefish... ...then back to the villa for cocktails. Bone-Idle is barman... ...and dinner in the Inn where Dr SeaBreeze entertains.

Saturday:
A few hour to kill before the flight to Nassau so BoneBoy goes snorkelling in front off the Inn...
...and swims with a school of jacks... ...a great way to chill at the end of the holiday.

For those who are interested in statistics:

1st week: BoneBoy caught 26, 2 more than BfG, and the girls didn't fish. Bonefish Bob fished with them for one day and caught 8, twice his previous best! A total of 58 fish in the first 7 days including 10 of 3lb or over.

2nd week: Novice flyfisher BoneAlone caught an impressive 15 bones to 6lb, BoneBoy caught 27 to 6½lb, BoneGirl: 4 (only fished 3 days), BoneIdle: 23, BoneLately 21 to 5lb (his personal best) and BfG 33 to 5¾lb - a total of 123 bones in 7 days - a Bonefish Adventure all-time best week!

Grand total for the 2 weeks: 181 bonefish, including 26 of 3lb or over, all caught on fly.

BoneBoy caught the biggest bone (6½lb) and the smallest (undisclosed size!)

BfG caught the most in one day (18), and the most overall (57), closely followed by BoneBoy (with 14 in one day and 53 overall).

BoneGirl was the lady with the most bones (4) and lost the most $$$$ at cards (undisclosed sum).

BoneIdle hooked (and lost) the most tarpon (1), broke the most rods (undisclosed number) and gave the most bad advice at cards.

BfG won the most $$$$ at cards (don't ask)!

Editor's note:
All the above statistics are true - only some of the names and locations have been changed to protect the innocent (and the bonefish!)
