Week 1
BfG and Anne (aka BoneFriday) arrive with regulars BoneIdle, BoneLately, Geoff (aka BoneHead) and bone-virgins Nick & Ian with non-angler Sue...

Sunday 9th: Nick hooks his first ever bonefish... ...not huge but he'll never forget the way it fought... ...meanwhile BoneLately & BoneIdle catch one each. Monday 10th: Nick hooks a nice fish which fights like a bone but turns out to be a jack... ...Ian is still boneless but not for the want of trying... ...but BoneIdle gets another from a pretty cove on the ocean side. Essential provisions fridge (non-essentials in our other fridge) Tuesday 11th: BfG take Nick & Ian stalking... ...lots of fish seen but very spooky... ...BoneIdle & BoneLately catch the only 5 fish of the day. Wednesday 12th: At last Ian lands his first bone, the only fish of the day... ...back to the Inn to celebrate, followed by a game of poker (chips provided by BoneIdle). Thursday 13th: BoneIdle stalks a nice fish feeding in a stingray hole... ...success! ...and Nick hooks his 2nd bone... ...and lands it... ...and so does Ian. ...while BfG lands two bonefish... ...and this nice boxfish which put up a great fight. Front row: BoneIdle, BoneFriday, Sue, BfG & Nick. Back row: BoneLately, BoneHead & Ian. Friday 14th: A pink sand beach (nice spot for the girls)... ...but not so good for the boys, so they leave the girls there and move on... ...Ian hooks one in town... ...his 3rd of the week... ...meanwhile BoneHead & BfG explore a remote creek... ...BoneHead soon lands his 1st fish of the week (one of 6 that day)... ...and BfG lands 8. Meanwhile Idle & Lately land 16 from a school... ...a total of 31 bonefish in one day, a great way to end the 1st week.

Week 2
BoneIdle, BoneLately, Nick & Ian depart and Brian & Lesley arrive for their first visit to Eleuthera...

Sunday 16th: BoneFriday gives a local a free ride to Rainbow Beach... ...and Brian catches his 3rd (and biggest) bone of the week... 5½lb... ...safely released. Monday 17th: BoneFriday takes some photos... ...BfG catches 5 from a windy flat, and Brian gets 3 to 4lb on Briland. Tuesday 18th: Brian plays a nice bone while a guide and client look on... ...while BfG stalks bonefish on the ocean-side, hooks five... ...lands and releases three. Wednesday 19th: Unusual on Eleuthera, a brown pelican fishing near Pelican Cay! Brian also fishing near Pelican Cay... ...while BoneHead is enjoying an excellent day on his own... ...catching six to 5lb (his personal best) this one reminds us of a famous Austrian! Thursday 20th: Up north again, Brian lands three to 4lb while BfG lands four including this one. Friday 21st (last night): Lesley & Brian... ...BfG, Anne & Krabby Ken. Saturday 22nd: lunch at Tippy's... ...a great spot to wait for the flight... ...Brian, Lesley, Anne, BfG & BoneHead.

For those who are interested in statistics:

Week 1
BoneLately caught the heaviest bonefish: 3½lb
...and the most bones: 14
BfG caught the most bones in one day: 8
Total bones for the week: 46

Week 2
Brian caught the heaviest bonefish: 5½lb
BfG caught the most bones: 14 including 9 in the 3 - 5lb range
BoneHead caught the most bones in one day: 6 (including his personal best of 5lb)
Total bones for the week: 35

Grand total: 81 bonefish, including 25 of 3lb+, all caught on fly, and once again nobody blanked!

Generally speaking the weather during these two weeks was disappointing for the time of year... Although temperatures were pleasant, the cloudy conditions and very strong winds made the fishing harder than usual. However, we overcame adversity... bonefish were caught each day, nobody had a boneless week, the average size was up, and everybody enjoyed themselves, including the non-anglers. The other "plus" was that the breezy conditions kept the no-see-ums away!

Graham & Anne thank all concerned for their support... the anglers for their sportsmanship, and the non-angling partners for their kindness and for putting up with all the fishing talk! We hope to enjoy your company again in the not too distant future.
