ELEUTHERA, BAHAMAS, WINTER 2001, WEEK 1

Strong north-easterly winds (the aftermath of Hurricane Michelle) made the fishing difficult for the first few days, however we all caught something!

John Bussey proudly presents his first ever bonefish Peter at the airport with his first bone left to right: Howard, Tim, John, Clive, Carol and Peter enjoying Monday night cookout by the pool Howard with a nice fish that he landed after a joint effort with Carol Being on crutches did not stop John getting to the bar! A shoal of bones (foreground) being harried by a large barracuda.... The barracuda was that big ! and that close!!.... ....but John still managed to hook this one from the shoal! Peter was happy with this fish taken at Governors Harbour Howard getting to grips with a needlefish Peter with a 3 1/2 lb bone John with a 4 1/4 lb bone at Anchor bay Howard and Carol are serenaded at the airport by Dr. Seabreeze before Howard left for home


For those who are interested in statistics:

During the week we all caught bonefish, 16 in total: John caught 6 to 4¼lb, Howard 1, Tim 1 and Peter 4. BfC caught 3 to 3½lb and Clive caught 1 @ 4lb.

Congratulations to John who despite recovering from two broken ankles still caught the most fish.
